Eva Marcille, 31, is an American actress, TV host and fashion model. Eva played the recurring role of Tyra Hamilton on the popular US soap opera The Young and the Restless. She started her career by winning the third cycle of hit TV series ‘America’s Next Top Model’, where her prizes included a CoverGirl cosmetics contract, a spread in Elle magazine, and a modelling contract with renowned model agency Ford Models.
Eva has appeared on the cover of many magazines including Brides Noir, Women’s Health and Fitness, King magazine, IONA and Essence magazine. and has starred in feature spreads in In Touch Weekly, WeTheUrban Magazine, IONA, UNleashed magazine, Star Magazine, OK!, Jewel magazine, Elle and Elle Girl to name a few. Her campaign modelling credits include leading brands such as: CoverGirl, DKNY, Samsung, Red by Marc Ecko, Applebottoms, Lerner Catalog, Avon Campaign 4.
Previously managed by supermodel Tyra Banks from 2003-2006, Eva chose to leave Tyra so she could expand her career and pursue acting.
TV & Film Career:
Eva has guest-starred on several television series on UPN and The CW Network. Her guest-star credits include two episodes of Kevin Hill, one episode of Smallville, one episode of Everybody Hates Chris, and one episode of The Game as herself. Eva has also appeared on Tyler Perry’s House of Payne. In addition, Marcille hosted BET TV’s reality show ‘My Model Looks Better Than Your Model’, as well as ‘Rip the Runway’ on BET. Furthermore, she has appeared in several music videos, including “Baby” by Angie Stone (featuring Betty Wright), 50 Cent’s “I Get Money” and Jamie Foxx’s “DJ Play a Love Song”. She is also mentioned in Lil’ Kim’s song, “I Know You See Me” and Missy Elliott’s “On & On” where the rapper sings, “Top model diva but my name not Eva.”
In 2008, Eva joined the cast of The Young and the Restless as a young mother named Tyra Hamilton. After a few months, her character, who was planned to be temporary was made permanent. In 2009, Marcille was nominated for two NAACP Image Awards for ‘Outstanding Actress in a Daytime Drama Series’ for her Young & Restless role and, in 2010, she won a Young Hollywood Award. In 2009, Eva appeared in the BET prank show Played by Fame, where contestants had nightmarish dates with celebrities. She hosted the first season of the Oxygen TV network’s reality series ‘Hair Battle Spectacular’ in 2011.
In summer 2014, Marcille landed a recurring role as main cast character Tara in the TV One series ‘Born Again Virgin’ (currently on its second season). In 2016, Eva appears in a recurring comedy role on the popular BET comedy series, Real Husbands of Hollywood, alongside Kevin Hart and Robin Thicke; and TV show The Fright Night Files. She’s also the main star of the BET reality series ‘About the Business’, a docu- series that follows Eva’s journey through Hollywood.
In film, Eva’s credits include The Walk, Crossover, and, most recently, I Think I Love My Wife, co-starring Chris Rock.
Personal Life:
In July 2006, Marcille started dating Tyler Perry’s House of Payne star Lance Gross. They got engaged on December 24, 2008 and split up in March 2010. She then dated rapper Flo Rida for two years, from 2010 to 2012. In January 2013, she began dating singer-songwriter Kevin McCall and, in 2014, the couple had a daughter together named Marley Rae McCall, but the couple split in 2015.
